When Should I Prune my Trees?

When should I prune my trees?

That is a question that I am often asked and the answer is now.  As a general rule, significant canopy reduction should be done during the off or non growing season.  This season is not so much determined by the calendar as it is by temperature and weather.  A general rule of thumb is that November through February is a pretty safe bet.  Pruning should be done when the tree is dormant.  This blog will develop this theme of pruning on this post and a few following.  If you have specific questions please feel free to reach out through our website and I would be happy to discuss your situation with you.
